There’s a new face leading the company’s employee development and recruiting team. Kelli Farris joined MFA Oil on October 31 as employee development manager. She comes to the cooperative with more than ten years of experience in higher education.
In addition to overseeing the company’s corporate recruitment and instructional design, Farris will coordinate with the MFA Oil management team to define training needs and direct educational content development. Farris reports to Amanda Cooper, vice president of human resources.
“I am excited that Kelli has joined our team,” Cooper said. “Her background in education and recruitment will prove to be beneficial as we continue to work to hire the best people and create focused employee development within the organization.”
Before joining MFA Oil, Farris served as executive director of the Center for Student Involvement at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. She has also held student engagement and leadership development positions with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Missouri State University.
Farris, a central Missouri native, looks forward to growing the company’s learning and development strategy.
“There’s a lot of opportunity to connect our employee development efforts with our recruiting,” Farris said. “The more you can build a reputation for talent development, the easier it becomes to recruit prospective employees.”
Farris holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwest Missouri State University and a master’s degree in student affairs and higher education from Indiana State University.
