MFA Oil employees were given the opportunity to give back to the community through the company’s Week of Giving. Running from Nov. 13-17, all employees could either donate one hour of pay per month or make a one-time donation to any of the four pre-selected non-profit organizations. Over 200 employees participated in the Week of Giving raising $55,334.
Non-profits were selected by the Employee Committee after careful consideration and research. Three of the four non-profits selected were central Missouri charities, with one national non-profit that provides assistance to a wide variety of communities
“A lot of these non-profits can benefit from even just one hour of an employee’s salary a month,” says employee development director Tom May. “Giving back to the communities we serve has always been a huge part of who we are and who we have always been as a company.”
This was the first year Week of Giving was offered to all MFA Oil employees, not just those at the home office. The Week of Giving was expanded to provide all employees the opportunity to give back and make a difference to the selected non-profits.
“One of the reasons we included a national charity was to provide employees the opportunity to give to an organization impacting a wide variety of communities,” says employee committee member Haley Davidson. “MFA Oil really likes to support communities through charities, which is why we have the Week of Giving.”
