Week of Giving Raises Nearly $78,000 for Charities

MFA Oil employees raised nearly $62,000 for charity while engaging in 2023 Week of Giving festivities from October 30 to Nov. 2. A company donation of $16,000 boosted the total to almost $78,000 that will be distributed to the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association, Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition, Second Chance Animal Rescue, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Week of Giving campaign will result in the following charitable contributions:

The Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association – $18,036.85
Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition – $14,449.53
Second Chance Animal Rescue – $14,789.33
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – $31,085.90

Helping Hand pledges accounted for most of the donations, totaling $52,908.96. Each pledge consisted of deducting one hour of pay per month for the year. An incentive of eight hours of PTO, known as “Giving Day”, was given to employees who submitted a pledge card. For every 50 Helping Hand donations the company received, a drawing for $100 was held. Three winners were randomly selected: Kyle Strodtman, Patricia Ankelman, and Casandra Becker.

An additional $9,305.65 was raised throughout the week from one-time donations and food sales. Home Office employees were divided into eight color-coded teams to compete for the most points. Entering raffles, attending events, and playing games all added points to a team’s total score. Smiles and friendly competitiveness showed as personnel from every department worked together to win against the other teams.
