The following employees have announced they will be retiring from the company. A party is planned for Thursday Dec. 12 at 1:30 pm in the lower level conference room at the Home Office to honor these employees for their years of service and contributions to the company.
Curt Ricks
After 35 years of service with the company, Curt Ricks is retiring on January 3. Ricks joined the company as an assistant credit manager. During his long tenure with the company, Ricks has served in a number of roles, including area credit manager, credit manager and in 2012, he was promoted to his current position of director of credit and collections.
“Curt is always willing to do what it takes to get the job done,” says Jeff Raetz, chief financial officer. “His ability to analyze and adapt to the changing landscape of the company and our customers is why he has been so valuable to MFA Oil Company and why he is so respected by his coworkers and management.”
Dave Mast
Dave Mast is retiring on January 2. Mast has been with MFA Oil for 24 years. He joined the company as the manager of the California Distribution Center where he made sure the refined fuel and propane operations were supplied with oils, lubricants and supplies. When the California Warehouse transitioned to the Moberly Business Support Campus, Mast continued to contribute to the company’s distribution operations and most recently has been supervising the Mount Vernon warehouse.
“Dave has been a vital part of our supply chain for more than two decades, and I really appreciate all the hard work and effort he has put into expanding our operations in the Mount Vernon area,” says Kenny Steeves, senior vice president of MFA Oil operations.
Jean Black
Jean Black, who has been with the company for 17 years of service, is retiring December 16. Black joined the company as a senior programmer and was later promoted to senior business analyst/developer. Jean’s abilities and can-do attitude allowed her to work between the IT area as well as the accounting area and provide valuable solutions and information to the company operations.
“Jean’s ability to do whatever is needed to find solutions so that we can be more efficient or extract data from the system in order to make business decisions has been invaluable,” says Raetz.
Mike Newman
After 3 years of service to the company, Mike Newman, business development sales representative is retiring on January 3. Newman has made contributions to the company by increasing sales in his territory every year and providing great outstanding customer service.
“There’s never a dull moment when you work with Mike and get to see his unique approach to sales,” says Steeves. “I’ve always appreciated Mike’s enthusiasm for his work.”
