Before long, a couple of quick taps of the Toughpad will be all it takes for drivers to clock in and out of work. A new app developed for the tablets installed in fuel and propane trucks is undergoing field testing and could soon lead to quick, on-the-go time entry for drivers.
The app is relatively straightforward with three buttons for entering time spent driving, conducting service, and another category for all non-driving and non-service work. Some drivers in the West Central Operations District have already begun using the app to track their time.
“We are testing the app to make sure the data generated is flowing into the payroll system properly,” says Amy Wiser, payroll manager. “The goal is to make time entry on the Toughpads as easy and intuitive as possible.”
