A focus on attracting poultry customers in northeast and central Arkansas has added more than 600,000 gallons of propane sales volume to the company since September.
“We started targeting farmers who were opening new poultry operations in our sales area and we’ve had a lot of success in picking up new customers,” says Ron McCreless, business development representative for the area. “The poultry producers like the fact that we are a farmer-owned company and the opportunity to earn patronage. Those factors and our excellent products and service make us an attractive supplier.”
The company has recently picked up approximately 250 new poultry barns in Arkansas. McCreless says sales to poultry operators in the area have snowballed thanks to strong word of mouth.
”The new poultry customers we have picked up talk with their friends and neighbors and tell them about our outstanding propane service,” McCreless says. “Our drivers, service technicians and plant mangers deserve a lot of credit for that. They do a great job of taking care of our poultry customers’ needs and the word is spreading.”
Nationally, Arkansas is a leading poultry state, ranking third in turkey and broiler production and tenth largest in eggs.
