Two longtime plant managers, Gordon Shay and Gene Martin, are preparing to retire from the company.
Gordon Shay

Gordon Shay began his career with MFA Oil on December 1, 1978, as a refined fuel driver in Pilot Grove, Mo. He was promoted to plant manager in 1982, and added management of the Boonville, Mo., refined fuel operations in 2006. Shay’s managerial duties were expanded in 2015 with the addition of the refined fuel and propane operations in Tipton, Mo., Versailles, Mo., and Otterville, Mo. and propane cylinder operations in Sedalia, Mo.
“Throughout Gordon’s 40 years with MFA Oil, he has served in a number of roles, including, driver, bookkeeper and plant manager,” says Luke Fitzpatrick, district manager. “We thank him for all of his hard work and commitment to the company. He will be missed in the West Central District.”
Gene Martin

Gene Martin joined MFA Oil as a plant manager during the acquisition of Wallace Oil on January 13, 2000. He has continued to serve in that capacity for the Rolla, Mo., area ever since.
“Gene has been an integral part of MFA Oil’s operations in the South Central District and I appreciate his dedication and all of his contributions to the company these past 19 years,” says Robert Burlbaugh, district manager.
