Several new plant managers are now leading bulk fuel and propane operations for the company. Some have been promoted, and some are new additions to the company. Regardless, we are excited to see what great things are in store for these managers and their plants.
Larkin Coker – Sulphur, Ind.
Hometown: I was born and raised in Florence, Miss. I left there in 2014 and moved to Louisville, Ky. as a depot manager for the company I was with at the time.
Work Experience: I started in the propane industry at Dealers LP in Jackson, Miss. as a warehouse manager. I then worked as a propane driver for a couple of years for a local propane company in Florence. I was promoted to a technician role and eventually service manager. After 14 years in the propane business, I went to work for a beverage Co2 provider. Roughly nine years later, I started with MFA Oil and got back into propane.
Favorite Part of Your Job: My favorite thing about MFA Oil is the people and culture. Everyone I have met and the team I lead is outstanding. I feel I have finally found a home and look forward to many years of working with everyone!
Hobbies: Outside of work, I enjoy kayaking, fishing, camping, pretty much anything outdoors, motorcycle rides and seeing new places.
Stuart Dowdy – Cole Camp/Windsor
Hometown: Lincoln, Mo.
Work Experience: I’ve held several different positions throughout the company, and each had its unique challenges and rewards. Having held those different positions has given me great insight into how the company operates as a whole and really helps me in my day-to-day decision-making and problem-solving.
Favorite Part of Your Job: Overall, it has been a great experience working for MFA Oil. My favorite thing would be the relationships I have developed with people from all over the company and the daily interaction with our customers.
Hobbies: Outside of work, I enjoy working with our cattle and hunting as much as possible.
Jimmy Gammon – Pevely/Ste. Genevieve
Hometown: I am from Desloge, Mo., and still live there.
Work Experience: I have been in the propane industry for a little over ten years. I started as a service technician and then moved into plant operations. I have done pretty much everything from service to delivery to handling cylinders.
Favorite Part of Your Job: My favorite thing about working for MFA Oil is they have been able to keep the small business feel when they are a big player in the industry.
Hobbies: When not at work, I enjoy camping and spending time with friends and family.
Mark Higgs – Aurora/Purdy
Hometown: Cassville, Mo.
Work Experience: I used to own my business building fuel canopies. Before joining MFA Oil, I worked for eight years for the Missouri Department of Transportation. I’ve been with MFA Oil for three years.
Favorite Part of Your Job: I enjoy the family-oriented atmosphere, working with the farmers and helping all our other customers.
Hobbies: We own a camper and enjoy camping just about anywhere, but especially somewhere near a lake. I like fishing on the Roaring River, and I am also working on some land where we plan to build a house.
Glen (Danny) Montgomery – Centerville, Iowa/Milan/Unionville
Hometown: Unionville, Mo.
Work Experience: Before joining the company, I was a plant manager for DCC Propane.
Favorite Part of Your Job: I started on July 12, 2021, and everyone has been so helpful. I am enjoying my new role with this great company and am glad to be a part of the team. My favorite things about MFA Oil are the coworkers, being part of this great team and working with the customers.
Hobbies: I love to golf, water ski, ride my motorcycle and do just about anything outdoors.
Robbie Stewart – Bernie/Jackson
Hometown: I grew up in Doniphan, Mo., and I’ve been living in the Bloomfield, Mo. area for the last three years.
Work Experience: I’ve been in the oil industry for 11 years. I have seven years with MFA Oil, including three-and-a-half years during this go around. I started as a driver in Poplar Bluff then moved into a service tech role for the Poplar Bluff and Sikeston areas. I then moved into the role of manager of Bernie and Jackson. I’m looking forward to helping the company and employees grow and being a leader and team player.
Favorite Part of Your Job:
One of my favorite things about MFA Oil is the family environment and working with a great team.
Hobbies: I like spending time with my wife and kids. I enjoy watching my kids rodeo, trail riding, hunting, working on our farm, going to church, and being outside in God’s country.
Jaron Wooledge – Lebanon
Hometown: Gainesville, Mo.
Work Experience: I have been in the transportation industry for 22 years. I have driven over the road, worked LTL, as a driver instructor, office manager, dispatcher, load planner for an over-the-road company, a propane driver, and now the plant manager in Lebanon.
Favorite Part of Your Job:
My favorite part of working at MFA Oil is the people. Everyone I have worked with and delivered to is great. The job is rewarding, and I enjoy the opportunity to grow with the company.
Hobbies: I enjoy being a parent to my children, building projects, floating on the river and working on my honey-do list.
