On Monday, Sept. 26, Kenny Steeves, senior vice president of MFA Oil operations, announced the promotions of Terry McCallie and Chris Tynes to the positions of district manager.
The Mid-South and Ohio Valley District, which has been managed by Jeff Goodwin for the past 24 years, will be split in two with McCallie taking on responsibility for operations in the new Arkansas District and Tynes overseeing operations in the Ohio Valley District. Goodwin, who is planning to retire in February, will work with McCallie and Tynes to help them transition into their new roles.
“We are splitting up the Mid-South and Ohio Valley District because it’s very difficult for one person to cover a territory that spans such a large swath of ground,” Steeves says. “Jeff has done a tremendous job for us, and I look forward to seeing continued success under the leadership of Terry and Chris. I am excited about the opportunities this will provide Terry and Chris to focus on customer service, employee development and growth in their respective districts.”
McCallie joined the cooperative on Sept. 22, 1993, when MFA Oil acquired McCallie Oil Company, the family business that had been run by his father. He began his nearly 30-year career with MFA Oil as manager of the Carlisle, Ark., plant before eventually adding management of Arkansas plant operations in Lonoke, DeValls Bluff and Batesville.

Tynes has been with MFA Oil since Aug. 2014, when his company, All Propane, was acquired. He stayed on with MFA Oil as manager of the Murfreesboro, Tenn., plant and was promoted to the role of Ohio Valley operations manager in 2016. In his most recent position as a territory manager, Tynes has overseen the company’s propane operations in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee since 2020.
