Movin’ On Up: Davis and Peterson Promoted

MFA Oil is pleased to announce the promotions of Scott Davis and Lance Peterson.

Scott Davis, Manager of Systems Administration

In his new role as manager of systems administration, Scott will hold the responsibility of managing the daily tasks of the systems administrators team and CNCs. In addition, Scott will work closely with Greg Sellers, senior manager of infrastructure operations, to make sure that system administration resources and operations align with the business priorities for both ITS projects and mandatory system maintenance.

“Scott has been instrumental in leading the systems team during his time here,” says Sellers. “He has been an SQL database administrator and an E1 operations administrator during that tenure as well, which expands his breadth of knowledge and skills to give him a great view of our systems overall. “

Scott Davis

Scott began his career with MFA Oil in October 2012 as a member of the tier 2 service desk team within the information technology services department. While holding this position, Scott mastered crucial departmental skills, leading to his first promotion to the infrastructure operations team as a tier 3 technical resource. In December 2016 Scott was promoted once again to the Sr. System Administrator position. This position allowed him to use his distinct knowledge and leadership skills to complete various projects involving both business and technology.

“I am confident that Scott will continue to excel in this new position,” says Jeremi Rowland, director of information technology services. “I look forward to working alongside him to maintain and evolve our systems and workflows throughout the company.”

Lance Peterson, Manager of Network Administration

In his new role as manager of network administration, Lance will manage the day-to-day activities of the network administrators team. In addition to his current tier 3 support role, Lance will work in partnership with Greg Sellers, senior manager of infrastructure operations, to ensure that the network administration resources remain aligned with the current business priorities for both new projects and preventative network maintenance.

“Lance quickly became our Cisco Voice administrator after we implemented our new phone system,” says Sellers. “He has led our expansion of that system and several other network projects as we have advanced our technological support operations.”

Lance Peterson

Lance began his career with MFA Oil in September 2012. Lance’s initial tasks involved assisting in stabilizing the company’s systems and networks. His dedication to the department and advanced skill sets resulted in his promotion to senior network administrator within the infrastructure operations team in December 2016. Lance has also received various certifications in order to further enhance his capabilities. Most recently, he completed the Cisco Certified Network Associate achievement.

“I am confident that Lance will continue to shine in this new role,” says Jeremi Rowland, director of information technology services. “I look forward to working alongside him and the rest of the network administrators to maintain and evolve our network infrastructure and communications system throughout the company.”
