Movin’ on Up: Dalten Kliethermes

Dalten Kliethermes

On October 20, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Raetz announced the promotion of Dalten Kliethermes to the position of BPLP accounting manager. The newly created position will report to Raetz and have oversight of the company’s field auditors, who have received title changes and will now be known as field accountants.

“Dalten has worked hard to clean up our inventory system and has been key in helping to get our monthly financial statements more accurate,” Raetz said. “He is passionate about MFA Oil and the quality of his work. This is a much-deserved promotion, and I’m excited to see Dalten excel in his new role.”

Kliethermes came to MFA Oil in May 2017 as an inventory accountant. He has since worked his way up to accountant, inventory accounting manager, and his new role. Before joining the cooperative, he worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue as a tax auditor, for Hawthorn Bank as a credit analyst, and Jefferson Bank of Missouri in various positions.

Kliethermes holds an MBA from William Woods University and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Lincoln University.

Supporting BPLP Staff

As part of the restructuring, the field accountants will begin to work more closely with CSRs and plant managers to ensure BPLP staff have the training and tools needed to do their part in accurately recording plant financials. The field accounts will continue to perform auditing duties while helping to clean up data and analyze monthly financial statements for their assigned plants.

Raetz said he expects Kliethermes and his team to regularly partner with Jenny Daggett, BPLP operations director, and the company’s senior CSRs to provide training and resources to plant staff.

“The creation of the BPLP accounting manager position and the realignment of our auditing team will allow us to better support our BPLP operations,” Raetz said. “Ultimately, our goal is to make the company better. I believe these adjustments will allow us to do that by creating more opportunities to work together for the good of the organization.”
