A number of new faces have joined the ranks of plant managers in recent months. Some have been promoted and some are new additions to the company. Regardless, we are excited to see what great things are in store for these managers and their plants.

Matt Salmon: Skiatook, Okla.

Nickname: Fish

Hometown: Columbia, Mo

Work Experience: I have been with MFA Oil for 17 years and have had several different jobs within the company. I started at the Columbia bulk plant in 2001. Since then, I have worked in the lab, as a bulk oil driver and now as manager at the Pensacola and Skiatook, Okla. propane plants.

Favorite Part of the Job: I like interacting with our customers and getting to know them.

Passion: I spend most of my free time with my wife, Kris, and son, Ryan, and we try to get together with our families as much as possible. I also enjoy playing golf and watching sports.

Alex Copeland: Tipton, Mo.

Hometown: Broken Arrow, Okla.

Work Experience: I am a former collegiate and high school baseball coach. I have made a few stops along the way: Abilene Christian University (Texas), Fort Scott Community College (Kan.) and Mount Pleasant High School (Texas). I started my career with MFA Oil as a management trainee in Peculiar, Mo., and now I manage our plants in Otterville and Tipton, Mo.

Favorite Part of the Job: I like the daily interaction with our customers, and the constant pursuit of excellence that we strive for as a company.

Passion: I enjoy fitness, hunting and lake recreation. I believe to squeeze every ounce of out of your life, you have to take care of your body. I love doing that and helping others reach their fitness goals as well. I am looking forward to marrying the sweetest girl on July 13 of this year in Los Cabos, Mexico!

Matthew Warren: Rolla, Mo.

Hometown: West Plains, Mo.

Work Experience: I have worked for MFA Oil for a little over seven years. I was hired in 2011 to haul propane for our West Plains plant in addition to other things like setting tanks and performing propane maintenance. I also have experience delivering fuel on one of our 10-wheeler trucks. In August 2018, I became a management trainee for the Southeast District, which helped prepare me to become a plant manager when the opening in Rolla, Mo. came up in January 2019.

Favorite Part of the Job: I like meeting new customers and setting goals to accomplish for my area.

Passion: Outside of work, I really enjoy spending time with my wife, Tonya, and playing with my kids, Lilly, 6, and Lexi, 1. I also enjoy hunting and sports.

Riley Hartshorn: Chanute, Kan.

Hometown: Garden Plain, Kan.

Work Experience: Prior to joining MFA Oil, I was a warehouse manager for the largest fitness equipment retailer in Kansas for three years and a location manager for the largest Hertz rental car location in Kansas City for two years.

Favorite Part of the Job: I am enjoying learning about the company, working toward our goals, and growing our business in the Chanute area.

Passion: I am into hunting, fishing and sports, especially golf.

Christian Iglehart: Sulphur, Ind.

Hometown: Louisville, Ky.

Work Experience: I was a driver and a warehouse supervisor at another oil company prior to working for MFA Oil. I worked for that company for five years.

Favorite Part of the Job: It’s been a new challenge and that has been good for me. I enjoy learning about MFA Oil and the market.

Passion: My family is my passion. I have one daughter who just graduated from high school and another who just graduated from college.

Matt Anderson: Monroe City, Mo.

Hometown: Monroe City, Mo.

Work Experience: I started out as an MFA Oil driver for seven years, and I’ve worked as a service technician for the last five years.

Favorite Part of the Job: I like getting out to meet new people and I appreciate the fact that every day is different.

Passion: I’ve been married to my wife, Renee, for 13 years and we have three kids—Tyler, Megan and Jacob. I play a lot of golf in my spare time when I’m not busy coaching basketball and baseball.

Jeff Spurlin: Central City, Ky.

Nickname: Grave Digger

Hometown: Greenville, Ky.

Experience: I worked for a water company for 20 years, and now I am learning about propane. I started as a service technician and, when our previous manager retired, I took his place.

Favorite Part of the Job: When someone has a problem, I enjoy helping them find a solution. I’ve also enjoyed the challenge of learning the propane business.

Passion: I like camping. I also operate a concession stand with my wife. We usually go to race tracks, etc.
