Mark Fenner Named CCA Outstanding CEO Communicator

On June 5, MFA Oil President and CEO Mark Fenner received the Outstanding CEO Communicator award from the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mark was presented with the award at the annual CCA Institute. A panel of judges from the association reviewed each nominee and his/her commitment to effective communication as a part of their management style. Nominees for the award were also judged based on their support of communication within their cooperative and the standards set by past honorees.

The judges noted in their evaluation of Mark’s nomination, he “has embraced communicating on all platforms, from the interpersonal to written, from the traditional formats of annual reports to newer platforms such as podcasts.”

Mark’s Facetime with Fenner meetings, quarterly question and answer sessions, monthly podcasts and down-to-earth communication style were all major highlights in his nomination, which was submitted by Adam Buckallew, senior media relations and communications specialist and CCA member.

“Mark has empowered our communications team to create compelling, award-winning content and he directly contributes to many of these efforts by penning his own columns and letters to the membership,” says Buckallew. “Through Mark’s support and participation in the co-op’s communications efforts, he has driven the communications team to new levels of success.”

In addition to Mark’s award, the MFA Oil Marketing Department also won first place honors for Momentum magazine in the member newsletter category and first place for its 2017 annual report.
