Jeffrey Owens is bringing 15 years of solar industry experience to his new role as manager of Energized Solar. Owens’ background includes launching solar operations for two other companies. His responsibilities include all facets of Energized Solar’s operations, including overseeing customer leads, budgeting, contracting, scheduling, ordering materials, and hiring and managing solar staff.
Owens’ interest in solar power grew after he enlisted in the U.S. Army. The former combat engineer served two tours of duty in Iraq and came away from the experience with a newfound appreciation for American energy independence.
Owens helped found Show Me Solar in 2007, a nonprofit for solar power outreach, education, and advocacy, and worked as the organization’s executive director for a decade. Before joining Energized Solar, he served as vice president and operations manager of Missouri Solar Applications and solar division manager for Air and Water Solutions.
“This is the position I’ve been waiting on for 15 years,” Owens says. “MFA Oil has a unique, trusted position with farmers and rural Missourians and the resources to lead historic adoption of solar technology. I look forward to seeing Energized Solar grow to its full potential.”
Owens reports to Ed Harper, vice president of enterprise risk management.
“Jeffrey brings deep knowledge of the solar industry to our team,” Harper says. “He’s ideally suited to ensure Energized Solar delivers the quality products and services our members and customers have grown to expect from MFA Oil Company.”
Owens is a licensed photovoltaic solar panel installation professional with the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. He holds Master of Science degrees in physics (University of Missouri) and mathematics (University of Florida).
