Nearly 30 students visited the Home Office for an Internship Showcase event on October 26 to learn about opportunities at MFA Oil and talk with hiring managers.

Students were welcomed by Mark Fenner, president and CEO, and then heard from employees representing 12 departments about summer internship possibilities. The event allowed interns to network with MFA Oil hiring managers over the lunch hour and to sign up for interviews which were conducted that afternoon.

The showcase represents a concerted effort by the MFA Oil recruiting team to identify and hire internship candidates earlier in the academic year.

“We have found that many candidates seeking internships like to have a position secured prior to Thanksgiving,” says Justi Montague, HR information systems manager. “With this in mind, we have focused our recruiting efforts primarily on events this fall.”

The event has already led to seven internship offers being sent out to students who attended the showcase and that number is likely to grow as hiring managers conduct follow-up interviews with prospective candidates.
