After 26 years of service with the company, Butch Finney’s career with MFA Oil is ending on Aug. 31. Finney joined the company in August of 1993 as a part time driver at the Chillicothe propane plant. At the time he was also operating an MFA Oil service station, B&J’s MFA.  During his long tenure with the company, Finney held a variety of roles with the company, including driver, manager, training agent, senior training agent, area manager, district manager and most recently as a senior acquisition manager.

Over the last 22 years, Finney has answered the call whenever and wherever the company needed him having worked in every bulk and propane plant in the company.  After a brief stint as the Aurora plant manager, Finney became a training agent. In the training agent and senior training agent position, Finney helped get plants get caught up on paperwork, fill in for an any position that was needed, and help train new employees or help train employees on new processes or technology.  When the company had an acquisition, Butch was always there to transition the operation to the MFA Oil way. Finney also had a stint as the area manager in Oklahoma as well as district manager of the Ohio Valley operation in Indiana and Kentucky.

“Butch has always been willing to travel to any location and perform any job that the company has asked him to do over the last 26 years,” says Kenny Steeves, vice president of bulk fuel and propane operations. “that work ethic, dedication and willingness to serve the company in any capacity has contributed to the success that MFA Oil enjoys today. We thank him for everything and wish Butch and his wife Mary our best.”

A celebration of Butch’s career with MFA Oil will be held Monday August 26th at 3pm at the home office.
