Break Time Opens Second Truck Stop

Aiming to capitalize on the lack of truck stop options between Kansas City, Mo. and Sedalia, Mo. on U.S. Highway 50, Break Time opened a store catering to truckers’ needs last week in Warrensburg, Mo. The new truck stop is positioned at the intersection of highways 13 and 50.

“The location lends itself to a high volume of potential customers and it’s just down the road from a Dollar Tree distribution center, which is extremely convenient,” says Jennifer Bach, Break Time marketing and merchandise director.

The 6,500-square-foot travel center includes showers, laundry machines, free WiFi, a trucker lounge, CAT scales, a restaurant with seating for 30 and several food service options such as Smokestack Bar.B.Q and Hunt Brothers Pizza.

The store is similar to the truck stop that Break Time opened in Moberly, Mo. in 2017, however the size of the parking lot and the number of fueling positions has been increased to accommodate more customers and allow for large semi-trucks with trailers to more easily maneuver in and out of the lot.

In addition to 18 pumping positions for cars and light trucks and six dedicated fueling positions for truckers, this is the first Break Time location with truck scales.

Members of the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce gathered with MFA Oil employees to celebrate the opening of the new store with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 7.
