On January 9, Break Time reopened its Lexington location at 902 S. Business Highway 13. The store was temporarily closed for four months while it underwent rebuilding. The new store features added pumps, expanded fueling options, and more food and beverage choices for customers.
“Our former Lexington store was profitable, despite its smaller size,” says Curtis Chaney, senior vice president of retail. “We decided to rebuild because we see an opportunity to bring in additional customers and boost our inside sales with the addition of many new food and drink options.”
The Lexington location now offers diesel and E85 fuel in addition to gasoline. The diesel fuel and ethanol blend are new fueling options for the store.
“We plan to add a blended ethanol fuel of some sort at all our new locations in the future,” says Chaney.
Lexington-area customers will now find many new food and drink offerings that the older store did not have room to provide. Hunt Brothers Pizza, AnyTime Easts breakfast sandwiches and roller grill foods are all now available. Additionally, a wider selection of fountain drinks, slushies and bean-to-cup coffee dispensers are on-hand to satisfy thirsty customers. The bean-to-cup coffee technology, which has become a standard offering at newer Break Time locations since its introduction in 2020, provides freshly ground coffee on demand.
Before its demolition, the Lexington store was co-branded with Cenex.
Chaney says he and his team will continue to evaluate existing stores with smaller footprints for opportunities to rebuild.
