MFA Oil held its annual managers meeting in Springfield, Mo., at the University Plaza Hotel on August 14-15.  The meeting brought together bulk and propane plant managers, operations managers, district managers and business development personnel to discuss how the company is refocusing its efforts on improved service to customers.

Jon Ihler, president and CEO, kicked the meeting off by outlining the corporate strategy for the new fiscal year. He said the management team and board of directors worked together to develop the strategic plan that emphasizes putting the needs of customers first.

“We want to facilitate great buying experiences for all of our customers, invest in our talent and culture, and develop our internal capabilities,” Ihler says. “We believe that if we are taking proper care of customers and employees while using strategic systems and disciplined procedures to improve our performance, we should be doing everything we need to do to increase the earnings on our own operations.”

The first day featured a series of breakout sessions that covered affirmative action, an update on enhancements to the CSR Workbench, an overview of the new Work Horse line of lubricants and a look at how the bulk fuel and propane division will work to align with the company’s new strategic direction. The second day included informative sessions on fuel contracting, updates and improvements to inventory, safety, and opportunities to increase sales.

The meeting concluded with a leadership awards presentation that highlighted top performers. Recipients are invited to attend a leadership conference in Tucson, Ariz. this fall.

Congratulations to all the leadership awards recipients!
