By the end of May, Big O Tires is expected to have closed on the purchase of a new store in Norman, Okla. The property was already operating as a Big O Tires franchise, but it is in need of some remodeling. The 5,500 square-foot building has two bays for tire changes and four more for mechanical work. Remodeling crews are expected to begin work on the store on June 1 and Ed Harper, vice president of retail automotive, expects for the store to reopen by mid-July.
The Norman store will become the company’s 18th Big O Tires franchise store and its second in the state of Oklahoma. Harper says the addition of this store is significant for a few key reasons.
“This will give us better representation with the Big O Tires Midwest franchise group that we currently share with other franchisees in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois,” Harper says. “We will have an elected member in the group who can voice our stance on issues directly impacting our stores, such as distribution, information technology, products, and marketing.”
