A Halloween-themed awards banquet celebrating successes in the company’s Big O Tires division was held in Osage Beach on Oct. 28. Charlie Alexander, vice president of Big O Tires operations, says he and his team were excited to gather and celebrate their 2023 performances.

“Any chance we have to bring together all of our stores is special,” Alexander says. “That was especially true this year, considering it was the first time our new Kansas City managers and their team members could join us for the annual banquet.”

Alexander commended attendees for the strong sales and overall growth Big O Tires experienced in the 2023 fiscal year.

“I’m very proud of the work our entire team and division did this year, and I am excited to see how our stores perform in 2024!” he says.

Individual stores and employees within the Big O Tires division were recognized for fiscal and operational successes across 27 categories. The Jefferson City store on Jefferson Street was honored as the Store of the Year.

“Our Jefferson Street store employees have made great strides toward competing for this award over the last several years, so it was fantastic to see them meet their goal,” Alexander says. “Kyle Atteberry and his team have put in a ton of work to continue to improve one of our best-performing stores year after year, and they finally came through to win the Store of the Year award.”

Two inaugural awards named after long-tenured employees for their many contributions to Big O Tires were also presented. Andy Forck received the Andy Forck Community Engagement Award, and Russ Burkett received the Russ Burkett Customer Excellence Award.

“Andy has been with our company for 20 years and plays an integral role in the Jefferson City community, donating his time to multiple organizations, including the Knights of Columbus and Helias Booster Club,” Alexander says. “Russ has been a part of MFA Oil company going back decades as he owned his own MFA service station before coming to work at Big O Tires in the early 2000s. We named the Customer Excellence Award after Russ because he has led the company in customer count for many years. The exceptional customer service Russ delivers and his embrace of our company culture makes him a top-notch employee.”
