This month Brian Hynek and Mitch McCleary are taking on new responsibilities within the company.

Brian Hynek – Senior Program Manager
As senior program manager, Hynek is working to ensure major company projects are effectively prioritized and managed to completion. He has begun communicating with project leads to track milestones, report and resolve issues, and allocate resources as necessary. Hynek is also helping to establish standards and methodologies for projects, systems and data to help the company achieve data consistency across enterprise systems.
Hynek now reports to Justi Montague, director of operational efficiency and data governance.
“Brian has done a great job managing IT projects for all the years I have been with MFA Oil Company,” Montague says. “I’m pleased to have him join the team, and I know he will be a valuable asset in us achieving our goals.”
Hynek joined MFA Oil in April 2007 as a PC support specialist and has progressed through the IT service hierarchy. He has served as a systems administrator, help desk supervisor, manager of IT service desk and senior IT operations manager before assuming his new role.

Mitch McCleary – Senior IT Operations Manager
McCleary is responsible for overseeing, mentoring and providing leadership to the IT Service Desk team while streamlining and improving user experiences with IT support staff. Among his new duties, McCleary is expanding the adoption of the company’s service desk management system and developing dashboards to track service desk metrics and reporting to compare them against industry standards.
McCleary now reports directly to Jeff Hopkins, director of IT services.
“Mitch has been an outstanding asset to our IT team as he moved up through the ranks,” Hopkins says.
McCleary began his career with MFA Oil as a Break Time sales associate in 2010 and eventually worked his way to becoming store manager at the Business Loop location in Columbia, Mo., in 2013. He joined the IT Services team in 2014 as a retail systems technician and worked as a service desk technician II before being promoted to IT service desk manager in February 2020.
