MFA Oil Company Acquires American Propane Inc.

MFA Oil Company acquired American Propane Incorporated, an independent propane retailer based in Pevely, Mo., on June 30.

“The acquisition of American Propane fills a gap in our operational footprint and will help us solidify our operations in the southern St. Louis metro area,” said Kenny Steeves, senior vice president of MFA Oil operations. “We welcome American Propane’s customers and appreciate the opportunity to serve them.”

Included in the acquisition are American Propane’s trucks, propane storage tanks and equipment, an office in Pevely, and two employees – Linda Koenig, customer service representative and Mike Coy, driver.

“We chose to sell to MFA Oil largely because of the respect we have for how they do business,” said Kevin Epperson, president of American Propane Inc. “We know they will take care of our customers and employees in a way that honors what we have built here in Pevely. We are excited we found such a good fit for everyone involved.”

Southeast District Manager Trevor Honeycutt will oversee operations in Pevely on an interim basis.

MFA Oil will continue to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities in its existing market areas and other regions.
