Break Time Introduces E15 Fuel

Customers in Marshall, Mo. have a new flex-fuel option at Break Time. E15, a blend of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline, is now available for purchase along with E85, which was already offered at the store.

“As a farmer-owned cooperative, MFA Oil has a history of supporting agriculture in any way that it can,” says James Greer, vice president of supply and government affairs. “Offering a cheaper fuel alternative, such as E15, allows us to continue to support farmers.”

E15 is approved safe by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for all cars made in the model year 2001 and newer, light-duty trucks, medium-duty passenger vehicles (SUVs), and all flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). With a higher concentration of ethanol allowing the fuel to be produced at a lower cost, E15 is an alternative for customers searching for a more cost-effective option.

While the Break Time in Marshall is the first to offer E15, plans are in place to bring the new blend to more locations soon. E15 fuel is blended on-site using specialized pumps which mix E85 and E10. Break Time stores in Poplar Bluff, St. Joseph, 3200 E. Stadium Blvd. and 900 Conley Road in Columbia and the Break Time under construction in Macon are all expected to offer E15 within the next few months.
