2019 College Scholarship Recipients Announced

Winners of MFA Oil Company’s 2019 college scholarships have been selected:

Trenton Bargfrede, son of Randall Bargfrede, plant manager of the Salisbury, Carrollton, Brunswick and Glasgow bulk/propane plants for the BP/LP division, is a winner of the C.F. Robertson Scholarship. Trenton attended Sweet Springs R-7 High School, where he was the valedictorian and has been active in school and community activities and organizations, including student council, FFA, 4-H, FBLA and Missouri Boys State as well as many volunteer efforts in his community. Trenton plans to attend the Missouri State University and major in finance.

Parker Boyce, son of Matt Boyce, senior development manager at the Home Office, is a winner of the Dale H. Creach Scholarship. Parker attended Southern Boone High School, where he was valedictorian and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including National Honor Society, student council, the school newspaper as well as the football, wrestling and baseball teams. He is also involved in many volunteer efforts in his community. Parker plans to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology and major in biological sciences. 

Mikena Brown, daughter of Jason Bond, plant manager of the Neosho, Grove, Aurora and Purdy plants for the BP/LP division, is also a winner of the Dale H. Creach Scholarship. Mikena attended Neosho High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including FFA, the Pilot program and was also the manager of the basketball team. She has also participated in many volunteer efforts in her community. Mikena is graduating with an associates degree from Crowder College in May, and plans to attend Missouri State University to study animal science.

Catie Linneman, daughter of Kelly Linneman, driver from Salisbury for the BP/LP division, is the winner of the Jerry Taylor Scholarship.  Catie attended Salisbury R-IV High School, where she was the valedictorian and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including FBLA, band, drama club, science club, FCCLA, SADD, National Honor Society, student council, and was also the manager of the softball team and the homecoming queen. Catie plans to attend Missouri State and major in communications.

Winners were chosen based on academic record, school/community activities and characteristics of leadership.  There were several very strong applicants, and we wish all of them success in their future education and careers.
