The Petro-Card 24 at 200 S. Missouri Ave. in Marceline, Mo.,is scheduled to be shut down this spring as the company opens a replacement location.
“The existing site is inadequate in many ways and can no longer meet the needs of our customers or the company,” says Michael Whitney, district manager. “We are dropping fuel into undersized and out-of-date tanks and there isn’t any room to expand. Additionally, the pump site is too small for larger vehicles to pull in for a fill-up.”
A five-acre parcel of land along Highway 5 on the south side of Marceline has been cleared to make room for the new facility, which will feature a canopy and 12,000-gallon tanks for gasoline, red diesel and clear diesel.
“The new site’s extra space will improve the access and maneuverability of our customers who need to fill up their large trucks and equipment,” Whitney says. “From an operational standpoint, the bigger tanks will also cut down on the number of times our drivers have to visit the facility, freeing them up to focus on customer deliveries.”
