MFA Oil Company’s 2018 college scholarships have been awarded to the following:
Bailey Tyler, daughter of Dawn Tyler, senior field training administrator for the BP/LP division, was selected to receive the C.F. Robertson Scholarship. Bailey attended El Dorado Springs High School, where she was the valedictorian and has been active in school and community activities and organizations, including student council, National Honor Society, library club, letterman’s club, FFA, FCA, speech, art, DECA, dance team and volleyball; as well as many volunteer efforts in her community. Bailey plans to attend the Missouri Southern State University to study radiologic technology.
Matthew Miller, son of Joe Miller, driver from Poplar Bluff, Missouri is a recipient of a Dale H. Creach Scholarship. Matthew attended Poplar Bluff High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including National Honor Society, marching band, robotics, math club, academic team, drama club as well as Eagle Scouts. Matthew plans to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology to study physics.
Allison Procter, daughter of Tom Procter, director of safety and service for the BP/LP division, is also a recipient of a Dale H. Creach Scholarship. Allison attended Calvary Lutheran High School, where she was the valedictorian and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations, including: Key Club, National Honor Society, FTA, FBLA, cross country, volleyball, basketball and track. Allison plans to attend Central Methodist University to study sports management.
Alex Wimer, son of Shane Griffith, retail technology services supervisor, is the recipient of the Jerry Taylor Scholarship. Alex attended Hallsville High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations, including: FBLA, DECA, Student Television Network, Spanish club as well as baseball, in which he was a team captain. Alex plans to attend William Woods University to study communications.
The scholarship recipients were chosen based on academic record, school/community activities and characteristics of leadership. There were several very strong applicants and we wish all of them success in their future education and careers.
