2017 Scholarship Recipients

Recipients of MFA Oil Company’s 2017 college scholarships have been selected:

C.F. Robertson Scholarship

The C.F. Robertson Scholarship, established in 1972, is awarded each year to the son or daughter of a company-operated bulk plant manager, propane plant manager or salesman.

Reece Wood

Reece Wood, daughter of Tim Wood, a driver in the West Central District, is the winner of the C.F. Robertson Scholarship. Reece attended Tipton High School and has been active in school and community activities and organizations, including student council, National Honor Society, FFA, FCA, speech, art, DECA, track, cross country and volleyball as well as many volunteer efforts in her community. Reece plans to attend Missouri Southern State University where she will study nursing.

Dale H. Creach Scholarship

The Dale H. Creach Scholarship, established in 2003 to honor MFA Oil Company’s president emeritus, is available to sons and daughters of all full-time MFA Oil and MFA Petroleum Company employees.

Holly Findling

Holly Findling, daughter of Tim Findling, manager at Kirksville, Mo., is the first of two students selected to receive a Dale H. Creach Scholarship. Holly attended Kirksville High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including National Honor Society, choir, FFA, FBLA, band and softball.  Holly plans to attend Truman State University where she will study education.

Maggye McCallie

Maggye McCallie, daughter of Terry McCallie, manager at Carlisle, Ark., was selected to receive the other Dale H. Creach Scholarship.   Maggye attended Carlisle High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including Future Business Leaders of America, volleyball, Spanish Club and FFA.  Cortney plans to attend the University of Findlay and double major in business and western equestrian studies.

Jerry Taylor Scholarship

The Jerry Taylor Scholarship, established in 2016 to honor MFA Oil Company’s former president, is available to sons and daughters of all full-time MFA Oil and MFA Petroleum Company employees.

Haley Johnson

Haley Johnson, daughter of Tony Johnson, operations manager for Northwest Missouri, is the recipient of the Jerry Taylor Scholarship. Haley attended Princeton R-V High School and has been involved in school and community activities and organizations including FFA, National Honor Society, choir, band, cheerleading, track, softball and basketball. She was also the music instructor for two local church’s vacation bible school programs. Haley plans to attend the University of Central Missouri and pursue studies in radiology.

Scholarship Selection

The winners were chosen based on academic record, school/community activities and characteristics of leadership. There were several strong applicants and we wish all of them success in their future education and careers.
